Digital Versatile Disc or Digital Video Disc, better known and abbreviated as DVD, is a digital optical disc storage format capable of storing any kind of digital data. One of the common data contained in a DVD is video material, thus it is very natural for people to watch DVD movies on their DVD players. For those who want to add some personalized effects like watermark onto the DVD videos, they may begin wondering how to edit DVD video to meet their own specific needs. For those who use DVD camcorder to record and save as DVD, they often want to cut unnecessary scenes and episodes to only keep their desired segments. In this post, I am going to share with you how to edit a DVD disc.

Part 1: Choice of DVD editing Software

There are many DVD editing software or DVD editing programs that you can use to edit a DVD (Digital Versatile Disc). Each DVD editing software can edit content by either importing the VOB (DVD Video Object) files directly or converting DVD files into files that the software can recognize such as MPEG (Moving Picture Experts Group) or WMV (Windows Media Video). Editing a DVD is just like editing any other movie file on your computer once the VOB files have been imported or converted.

Although there are many DVD editing software on the market, most of them require converting DVD files into recognizable files before DVD files editing, which brings inconvenience to you. Here I would like to take this opportunity to recommend the best DVD editing software for you, better than any free DVD editing software. In addition to ripping function, Leawo DVD Ripper features the DVD editing function as well. Thanks to the advanced technology, there is no need to convert DVD files beforehand.

Currently, there are two versions of Leawo DVD Ripper available on the market. If you use Mac operating system, you shall choose Leawo DVD Ripper for Mac(DVD editing software Mac) while Windows version is for Windows operating system users. The operation for both version is the same to some extent.
