How to Add iTunes Music to Amazon Echo?

For your information, since the emerging of Amazon Echo, the world becomes much smaller and human-friendly as we can speak directly to the smart device for playing music without any help of remotes or physical switches. Isn't it funny and magical? However, it is also a challenge for different companies to play well with each other due to protection of their own markets. If we simply focus on Apple device/app and Amazon Echo, it is common to see people asking "can Amazon Echo connect to Apple music" or "how to transfer music from iTunes to Amazon Echo". The good news is there are a variety of ways to tackle this incompatibility issue, among which adding iTunes music to Amazon Echo via Bluetooth, via third party software, and via Amazon Music uploading service are the most popular ways.

Part 1. Introduction of Amazon Echo

Firstly, it is better to know Amazon Echo in depth. From its introduction on Amazon, we learn that Amazon Echo is a hands-free speaker you control with your voice. Echo connects to the Alexa Voice Service to play music, make calls, send and receive messages, provide information, news, sports scores, weather, and more—instantly. Meanwhile, Echo plays all your music from Amazon Music, Spotify, Pandora, iHeartRadio, TuneIn, and more using just your voice. All you have to do is ask. But for Apple music on iTunes that are all protected by DRM, an exclusive protection mechanism for Apple devices only, it takes a little bit effort to share music on Echo from iTunes music library, as DRM-ed iTunes music is not always compatible with Echo. I will list some commonly used ways to enable you to play iTunes music on Amazon Echo in following parts.

Part 2. Add iTunes music to Amazon Echo via Bluetooth

If we need to add iTunes music to Amazon Echo, the most cost-effective way is to pair your either iPhone or Mac with Amazon Echo via Bluetooth. Here we use iPhone as an example. Let's see the steps to do that in the following part.

Step 1: Turn on Bluetooth on your device such as iPhone or Mac

Use iPhone as a specific example here for demonstration. Go to Settings > Bluetooth. Enable Bluetooth then.

Step 2: Locate Amazon Echo and pair it with your iPhone

Once you successfully enable Bluetooth, there will be various devices listed below and select your Amazon Echo to pair it with your iPhone. There will be alert to let you know if the Amazon Echo is successfully paired with iPhone.

Step 3: Start listening to iTunes music via Echo

Use basic commands to stream all the audio you want on Echo once it is paired with your iPhone. This is the way to let you play Apple music on Amazon Echo without the need to pay any money.

Part 3. Transfer iTunes music to Amazon Echo with Leawo Prof. DRM

Bluetooth is a good way to sync iTunes music to Echo but due to the fact that Apple Music songs are all encrypted by the DRM protection, in order to enable Apple Music on Amazon freely and easily, we need to rip DRM off from iTunes music. Hence, it is worth to mention the necessity to remove DRM from iTunes music first and transfer DRM-free music to Amazon Echos. This requires the help from third party software. As a professional DRM removal program, I would like to highly recommend Leawo Prof. DRM to you to succeed in removing DRM from your Apple music and allow you to freely transfer the DRM-free music to Amazon Echo afterwards. Part 4. Guide to upload the converted iTunes music to Amazon

Aside from Leawo Prof. DRM and Bluetooth, uploading iTunes music to Amazon cloud and then sync them to Echo is a good option too. Like iCloud, Amazon has their own cloud music locker service, which allows you to upload all of your local music to Amazon's servers in order to be played back on both your smartphone and your Echo. Here comes a guide to show the procedure of uploading iTunes music to Amazon.

Step 1: Click to download Amazon Music to your computer.

Step 2: Log into the Amazon Music with the correct account.

Step 3: Upload your iTunes music to the Amazon Music. This will take some time to finish depending on how many songs to upload and the internet accessibility. When it is done, you can freely sync your music to Echo for enjoying whenever you like.

With all the above instructions, I am sure you are quite familiar with the procedure on how to play iTunes music on Amazon Echo. Among all effective ways to let you enjoy iTunes music on Amazon Echo, Bluetooth allows you to synchronize your music directly to Echo, Leawo Prof. DRM enables you to get rid of DRM and transfer DRM-free music to Echo if DRMed iTunes music is not allowed on Echo, and Amazon Music is another way to let you upload iTunes music to Amazon server and then sync them to Echo. To tell the truth, Amazon Music only allows us to upload up to 250 songs free and if more songs need to upload, we need to pay for the privilege of unlimited music. Therefore among these ways, DRM removal is very demanded and necessary.
