iOS 8 Coming This Fall

On the WWDC 2014, Apple unveiled iOS 8, and the key features of this latest operating system. iOS 8 still has the flat-designed interface, and the most of the functions that iOS 7 has, but this operating system updates and adds some functions that can be helpful for the users.

The update of iCloud makes it more useful. The updated iCloud will allow users to save more kinds of files in the cloud, including documents, keynotes and so on. The photos will also be saved into iCloud photo library immediately after the photos are taken, and you will be able to see the photos in all the other iDevices. This makes iCloud be more useful, although the free storage is still 5GB.

Health is a new app on iOS 8, and it may indicate the come of the wearable smart devices. This app will be able to track and record your heart rate, calories burned, blood sugar and cholesterol. Other functions like blood pressure monitor and so on are also mentioned in the WWDC, which makes the Health app helpful for daily uses.

Touch ID has also been optimized, it know can be applied to all sorts of apps. It is said that the developers has got access to the 5-digit login tool so that the Touch ID can be used more widely. As for now, the Touch ID for all can only be used on iPhone 5s, but it is believed that the fingerprint scanner will be used on iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2.

The message function has also been enhanced in iOS 8. With the "Do Not Disturb" function, users are able to get rid of the non-stop incoming iMessages. Moreover, the users are able to send group messages with voices and videos thanks to the multimedia enhancement of iMessage in iOS 8. iMessages also added a Snapchat-like function, but if you want to recover deleted iMessages from iPhone, it will also be easy.

Siri is also improved in iOS 8. This app is always an important one for Apple, and it is now more technical mature. Users will be able to use "Hey Siri" to start Siri on iOS 8, which will bring more convenience for users. Siri will be a better listener as well, it will be able to match the words that the users have spoken in real time.

The interactive notification center is also an improvement in iOS 8. With iOS 8, the users don't need to unlock the iPhone and then respond to the messages. The notification will allow you to make response to messages in time. The app also gives users the "On my way" lie so that the users will not mess up with the screen lock.

In iOS 8, users are able to send SMS and make phone calls on Mac. iPhone users with iOS 8 will be allowed to handle their SMS and phone calls on their Mac computers without any efforts thanks to the cross-platform technology that Apple has been always working on.

Handoff and Instant Hotspot are also enhanced in iOS 8. iOS 8 and Mac OS X Yosemite are going to provide more convenience when users want to finish their email, documents or other stuff. Users can switch the work between iOS devices and their Mac computers without overlaps with the Internet connected. If the users don't have Internet at the moment, they can turn on the Instant Hotspot, and go on with their work.

Quicktype keyboard finally comes out with iOS 8. The keyboard will predict your typing, and type the right names by learning your contacts. This keyboard has been waited by the users for a long time, and what's better, Apple will not limit user to use the pre-installed keyboard. This Quicktype keyboard and extensions will bring great convenience to the users.

HomeKit is also a new incoming key feature with iOS 8. Apple has made up his mind to tie the iOS devices with all the smart home electronics with the HomeKit app, and it helps users to lock the door, turn off the lights with no efforts. Users only need to use Siri to send the orders, and then the home electronics will carry on the orders.

These are the main enhancements and updates in iOS 8. The official version may be released as soon as September, and the users will be able to free download it for an enjoyment. The compatible devices include iPhone 4S and later, iPad 2 or later, and iPod touch 5. It is also believed that iPhone 6 will be released in this autumn, so the users can wait and check out what iOS 8 will be like on iPhone 6.
