Part 1: 2023 Top 10 Netflix 4K Movies & TV Shows

The below content is the list of best 4K titles and TV shows on Netflix 2023. You could refer to them and choose the one you like to get entertained during the self-quarantine during the anti-COVID-19 period. Check the 2023 top 10 Netflix 4K movies and TV shows below:

Marriage Story (2019)

Although it opens on a couple describing all the reasons they love each other, Noah Baumbach’s Marriage Story quickly dispels the illusion: This is a story of divorce, of a couple coming to the ultimate realization that the futures they want are simply incompatible and the messy process of sorting out where they go from there. The couple in question is playwright Charlie Barber (Adam Driver) and his actress wife Nicole (Scarlett Johansson). Nicole wants to move back to Los Angeles where a new job awaits, while Charlie would rather state in New York. It’s the latest in a series of tensions, the one that finally breaks them, and the two lawyers up, marshaling their grievances as they divvy up what remains of their life together.

The Irishman isn’t just director Martin Scorsese’s long-awaited return to the world of organized crime, it also unites the cinematic Holy Trinity of tough guy gangster movie stars: Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and an out-of-retirement Joe Pesci. It’s kind of like The Expendables, but with people who can act.

With a story spanning several decades (it’s a showcase for how far CG de-aging technology has come) the film delves one of 20th century America’s biggest mysteries: the disappearance of union boss Jimmy Hoffa (Pacino), who had links to both mainstream politics and the mob. It’s mainly told through the recollections of De Niro’s eponymous “Irishman” Frank Sheeran, a union member who becomes a hitman and enforcer for both Hoffa and the mafia.

The Crown ranks as one of Netflix’s best original series to date. That’s partly down to the phenomenal production values that have been instilled in this retelling of Queen Lizzie II’s early years. Over £100 million was invested in this extravaganza, starring Claire Foy and Matt Smith (and, from the third season, Olivia Colman and Tobias Menzies), and that all adds up to a swanky amount of period detail as well as several weighty performances.

Howard Ratner (Adam Sandler) is a once successful New York gems dealer whose gambling addiction has left his family and career in shambles, and him hundreds of thousands in debt. Always looking for the next big bet, Howard thinks he finally hit it big when he discovers a rare uncut rock of Ethiopian gems, with a very interested high-profile buyer. But the closer Howard gets to finally winning big, the more he is forced to realize he can't keep running from the consequences of his actions.

Henry Hill might be a small-time gangster, who may have taken part in a robbery with Jimmy Conway and Tommy De Vito, two other gangsters who might have set their sights a bit higher. His two partners could kill off everyone else involved in the robbery, and slowly start to think about climbing up through the hierarchy of the Mob. Henry, however, might be badly affected by his partners' success, but will he consider stooping low enough to bring about the downfall of Jimmy and Tommy?

Solo: A Star Wars Story

In the wake of The Rise of Skywalker, Solo doesn't seem too bad. This Star Wars spin-off movie is about the origins of Han Solo, and while the story is wholly unnecessary, it's terrific fun. This flopped big time at the box office – but that's not the whole story of this film.

Donald Glover's Lando Calrissian is a fantastic creation, and Alden Ehrenreich's cover version of Han is pretty convincing. A few clunky moments aside, the Kessel Run in this film is a treat, one of the weirdest and most inventive set pieces yet seen in the Star Wars universe. Solo is better than people give it credit for. It just came out at the wrong time.

The Witcher

'High-end trash' is one way to describe this fantasy adaptation, based on The Witcher books by Andrzej Sapkowski that you may know better as a trilogy of excellent videogames. Henry Cavill brings serious star power as monster hunter Geralt of Rivia, and even though there's a larger arc at work here that takes place over many years, the best parts of this eight-episode first season are Geralt's monster-of-the-week-style tales, which usually feature a twist ending of some kind.

It's not particularly challenging to watch, and it's not trying as hard as Game of Thrones was to be 'prestige' TV, but that's actually pretty refreshing. Enjoy spending time with its likeable characters, get to understand its world, and look forward to The Witcher season 2, which is already confirmed. And if you're struggling to follow the show's unusual time-hopping structure, check out The Witcher timeline to figure it all out.

The Dark Knight

The first two movies of director Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy are on Netflix US, and they're always worth a rewatch. The Dark Knight is a twist-y crime thriller that's more of an ensemble piece than Batman Begins or The Dark Knight Rises – indeed, at times it feels like good guy DA Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) is the protagonist as much as Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale). The highlight, of course, is Heath Ledger's multi-layered performance as Gotham-terrorizing villain The Joker, for which he posthumously won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar.

The Office

The Office is one of the most popular shows on Netflix US, years after it went off the air. And 2023 is the last year it'll be on the service: NBC's new streaming platform Peacock has the rights after that. But that's still most of a year that you can spend binging of the best modern sitcoms. The Office is built on the bones of the UK original, but it spins off in entirely different directions almost straight away, and is definitely less emotionally challenging to rewatch.

With 20-minute episodes, compelling season-long arcs and memorable characters, you can easily lose an entire weekend to watching The Office on repeat. Later seasons aren't nearly as strong, but you've got well over 100 must-see episodes to watch here.

The Aviator

Martin Scorsese’s eye for detail has developed him a reputation as a master of mob movies, but he brings that eye to every production. The Aviator sees the director stepping away from crime to tell the painstakingly recreated life story of Howard Hughes. Led by Leonardo DiCaprio as Hughes, The Aviator explores the eccentric billionaire from his days making groundbreaking movies to his revolutions in airplane technology. Thrilling, funny, and heartbreaking, The Aviator is a triumph of historical cinema. – John-Michael Bond
