Lenovo’s customers are in 180 markets around the world, so who or what exactly is Lenovo? According to Wikipedia, Lenovo’s history dates back to the early 1980s, not as Lenovo but as Legend. It was incorporated in Hong Kong in 1988, and its global headquarters is in Beijing. The computer company has research centers in Shanghai, Chengdu, Yamato, Shenzhen, Kanagawa and Morrisville (North Carolina). Towards the end of 2004, Lenovo bought the personal computer division of IBM, and it has remarkably grown since then. The CEO of Lenovo, Yang Yuanqing signed a deal with Bill Gates and Windows; Today, Lenovo is the 9th largest computer company. The Lenovo ThinkPad personal laptop is perhaps Lenovo’s most popular product. In this guide, we will show you how to screenshot on a Lenovo laptop.
Part 1: Capture a screenshot using PrtSc key
Taking screenshots on Windows computer is easy, and there are more than one ways to do it. If you use a Lenovo laptop, they are built with a PrtSc key, which is shortcut for Print Screen. Therefore, this is how you can use this hotkey to take screenshots on your computer.
Step 1: Go to the screen page you would like to take a screenshot, then find the "PrtScn" key which is usually in the upper-right side of the keyboard and press it.
Step 2: Open the Paint app, or any other photo editing app on your computer. This is because the screenshot is saved to your clipboard, therefore you will need the aid of another application to paste and save it.
Step 3: Paste in your screenshot by pressing "Ctrl" + "V" on your keyboard, then save it.
Part 2: Capture a screenshot using Snipping Tool
Snipping Tool is the most popular way that people use to take screenshot on Windows computers. That is because it has been around for 18 years, it was initially released on November 7, 2002 on Windows XP Tablet PC and Vista editions. It is very easy to use, and its main modes are “Free-form Snip”, “Rectangular Snip”, “Window Snip” and “Full-screen Snip”. The sad news is Microsoft is set to kill this application in a future update, because they released a successor to Snipping Tool with the October 2018 update, and it is called Snip & Sketch app. However, it is still available for use today, and here is how to take a screenshot on Lenovo laptop, or any Windows computer by using Snipping Tool.
Step 1: Launch the Snipping Tool app
The snipping tool is available on all versions of Windows, from Vista to 10. Click the "Start" button and type "Snipping Tool" on the search bar, then select the Snipping Tool from the search results.
Step 2: Choose the screenshot shape
There are "Free-form Snip", "Rectangular Snip", "Window Snip" and "Full-screen Snip" options available. Click the “Mode” drop-down button to choose the shape of the screenshot according to your own needs.

By default, there will be a red border around the screenshot. You can change this by clicking "Tools" and select "Options" from the drop-down menu.

1. Use the keyboard shortcut Windows + Shift + S. This will copy the screenshot to the clipboard. Upon pressing the keys, the screen will be dimmed and a cursor will be shown. Press the left-key mouse button to select the area you want capture then release it once you are done. Open Paint or any other photo editing application to paste the captured screenshot.
2. Use the Snip & Sketch app. This app was brought to replace the Snipping Tool app, which has been around for a while. Although the Snipping Tool app is still available, Microsoft will kill it in the near future, and therefore you can learn to use the Snip & Sketch app. To use Snip & Sketch, open the application then press the New button. You will be offered three options to take the screenshot, and that is rectangular, free-form, and full screen. Choose one that suites your needs, take the screenshot then save it.
