Leawo PowerPoint to Video Pro Getting Started

Leawo PowerPoint to Video Pro is a wonderful conversion tool that lets you transfer PPT, PPS and PPTX files to vivid videos in all pop fomats including AVI, MP4, VOB, WMV, MOV, MPEG, DV, FLV, 3GP and 3G2.

The converter shows perfect performance in preserving all the PowerPoint effects like animations and audio tracks into the output video. It provides you a host of choices to set the conversion. For example, it allows you to specify the video bit rate and the video size, change the audio sample rate and channels, or set the transition time between slides and add background music for the output. Converting with excellent output quality, the tool makes it cool to share your video slideshow on YouTube and watch it on portables like iPod, iPhone and iTunes.

Import PPT

Click the button, or click the File menu -> Add to import a PowerPoint file you would like to convert. This may take a few seconds depending on the size of the file.

To preview a slideshow, select the file and click the button in the preview panel to view the presentation. Click the button to view the former slide. Click the button the view the last slide, and click the button to view the first slide.

Edit File List

When you launch the program, you can see a guide list for getting started.
Add in a PowerPoint file or more. Then you can edit the file(s) on the list for later conversion.
The file list contains five columns: No., File Name, Slide Count, Size and Destination File.

No.: The serial number of an input PowerPoint file

File Name: The original name of an input PPT file

Slide Count: The total slides that are included in an input PPT file

Size: The size of an input PPT file

Destination File: The name of an output file name. By default, it is the same as the original file. You can enter a new name for an output video by clicking on the related Destination File field.

There are four buttons at the bottom of the file list: Remove, Clear, Move Down, and Move Up. You can click to choose the priority of the files you want to convert.

Click the button to remove the selected file.

Click the button to clear the entire file list, i.e. to delete all the files on the file list.

Click the button to move the selected file to a lower position on the file list. When reaching the bottom rank of the list, it will stop and stay there.

Click the button to move the selected file to an upper position on the file list. If you select a file and click this button, it will jump to the upper location while the previous upper file drops down to the original position of the selected file. When coming to the first rank on the file list, the selected file will be there. You can also drag the file to the position you want by mouse.

Set Output Settings

The output settings include two parts – Settings and Output directory. Select a file on the list and specify the related settings.

Profile: From the drop-down list, select an output video style. These Export Styles for video files are available: AVI, MP4, MOV, WMV, 3GP, 3G2, MPG, VOB, FLV, DV. You can also convert a PowerPoint presentation to video for playback on portable devices like: iPod, iPhone, Apple TV, PSP, Zune Movie (*.wmv or *.mp4), Xbox 360 Video (*.wmv), Pocket PC Movie (*.wmv), Creative Zen Player Video (*.avi), Blackberry Video (*.3gp;*.3g2;*.mp4;*.avi;*.wmv).

Video Quality/Audio Quality: Choose the output quality as you like. It should turn to custom if the output bit rate had been changed in Settings.

Profile Settings 

Settings: Click to specify the parameters of the video and audio settings. You can see the Profile dialog box below after clicking the button. You can change the video settings (e.g. Video Codec, Bit Rate, Video Size, Frame Rate, Aspect ratio) and audio settings like Audio Codec, Bit Rate, Sample Rate and Channels. Click Reset to restore to the original settings of the output.

Video Settings

Video Codec: Select a video codec for the output file if available.

Quality: Select an output quality for your video. We recommend that you choose high quality to get a high-resolution output.

Bit Rate: Select a proper bit rate for your video if available. Video bit rate (kbit/s).

Video size: Select a preset frame size or custom frame size for the output video. You can select “original” to keep the original frame size of the SWF file, or choose from the given options. Frame size (WxH).

Frame Rate: Select a lower frame rate for your video if you want to make the file size smaller, or you can select “original” to keep the frame rate of the original SWF file. Frame rate (hz).

Aspect Ratio: This option is to show different aspect ratios for you to choose from, or to keep the original/auto one for the created video file.

Audio Settings

Audio Codec: Select an audio codec for the output file, if other options are available.

Quality: Select an output quality for your video. We recommend you choose high quality in order to get the high-quality output.

Bit Rate: Select a proper bit rate for your audio data, if other options are available. Audio bit rate (bit/s).

Sample Rate: Select a proper sample rate for your audio data, if other options are available. Audio sampling rate (hz).

Channels: Select an audio channel for your audio data. Two types are available generally, mono and standard stereo.

Output: Click to specify the output file path. You can click on the  button to change the output directory.

Open: Click to open the output folder. When conversion is finished, click on the  button to locate the output file.

Customize Settings

This section contains three parts: Presentation, Conversion and Watermark.

To enter the Customize Settings interface, select an input PowerPoint file and click the button. Or double-click the selected file. You can also do this by rightclicking on the “Customize” menu.


The Presentation contains four sub-tabs: Timging, Music, Audio and Slide. If you have added several PowerPoint files, then you can select each file and set its timing, music, audio and slide parameters separately.

Timing: Set the transition time (0~100s) between slides, default as 6 seconds.

Music: Click to add a sound track. Select the sound track and click to test the effect. The button is not enabled until you click on the button. When you do this, the process icon appears to display the playing progress of the selected sound. You can also check the “Loop” play to set the music to play repeatedly.

If you are not satisfied with the current music, select it and click to remove it.

You can also click on and to move the selected file up or down.

Audio: Check the option to ignore the audio in the selected presentation. Click the button to set your option as default. Click the button to apply the setting to all PowerPoint files.

Slide: Check the option to keep the aspect ratio of the slides. Click the button to set your option as default.

The settings you have made in the above interface is only valid to the selected file on the list. Note that the name of the selected file is displayed under the Presentation tab.


The conversion needs the assistance of Microsoft PowerPoint program (either Office Suite or PowerPoint Viewer is OK). If two or more versions of PowerPoint have been installed on your computer, then you can either choose a version youself or let the program using the default one for processing. If there is no Microsoft Office Suite on your computer, then you should click Download to get PowerPoint Viewer and install on your computer.

Mute in conversion: Check to mute the inserted music in PowerPoint during conversion.

Priority Codec: Which codec you want to decode the inserted audio and video in PowerPoint for converting to other format.

Output File Exists: Select to rename or override the output file when it exists in the same directory.


Click Watermark tab and jump to the Logo & Video Layout interface.

Add logo(s)

Add logo file(s): Click to add an image from your hard drive. Then you can see the image on the preview panel. You can drag to place it anywhere within the panel or drag its border to zoom in or out.

Alpha: Drag the slider to set an alpha value for the logo you’ve added.

Enable Transparent Color (This function enables you to remove all pixels of a certain color from the image.)
Set the color that you want to remove: click to select a color or click to select a color from the selected image:

Tolerance: Drag to set a value of tolerance, i.e. to clear relative pixels of the selected image.

Set video layout

Margin Size: Drag the slider to set the margin size.

Margin Fill: Three methods are offered to fill the margin.

Method 1: Pick a picture from the template base.

Method 2: Adjust the colors. You can adjust the current angle and position of the margin via the cross fades of three different colors.

Method 3: Take an image from your local drive.

After the settings are done, click OK to save them and exit the Customize Settings interface. If you click Cancel on the bottom right or the Close icon on the top right of the interface, the changes will not be saved.

Reset: Click to restore all the settings to the original manner of the presentation.

Start Conversion

After you click , the following reminder box is prompted. Click OK to start conversion.

You will see another interface as below when the process completes. Click the hyperlink to view your video.
