Step 3. Select the movie mode<\/p>\n

MakeMKV is a great program with complicated functions but a very simple interface. To convert a video disc like DVD only needs a simple 3-step process.<\/p>\n
Step 1. Open a DVD disc<\/p>\n
On the first screen, program will show all available optical drives. At that point you can open the source DVD file on a hard drive.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/div>\nStep 2. Select content<\/p>\n
Once the DVD source is opened, you will see its contents which is shown as a tree structure. Normally, disc contains titles, some individual clips such as main movie and bonus features. You can select which titles you want to save and what tracks to keep in each title. Please use right mouse button to ease selection of multiple items. For each item, you can see detailed information such as item type, size, length, codec, language and so on. After you have selected what content you want to save, just press the "Make MKV" button.<\/p>\n
<\/a><\/div>\nStep3. Wait for conversion<\/p>\n
Finally, the conversion screen will display progress. The time period to convert the disc is determined by how fast your drive is capable to read. A typical time to copy DVD disc is about 15 minutes.<\/p>\n

Step 1. Download and launch HandBrake. <\/p>\n

\nPresets could affect compatibility and encoding time. For example, if you have a PlayStation 4, you may wish to select the PlayStation 1080p30 Surround preset under Devices. The default Fast 1080p30 preset is often a good choice because it is fast and compatible with most devices.<\/p>\n<\/a><\/div>\nStep 5. Select a destination<\/p>\n
Destination consists of the file name and location of the new video in HandBrake. “Save As” is about the file name of your new video. You can change it by typing directly in the box. “To” is about the location where HandBrake will place your new video. You can select the “Browse...” button to choose a specific location.<\/p>\n
Please pay attention to note your destination, or you will not be able to find your new video. You can move it later if you desire.<\/p>\n

Select the “Start” button on the toolbar. HandBrake will report its progress while it is working and alert you when it is finished. Then you can have a check at the destination you selected, there should have one new file.<\/p>\n

Step 1. Download and launch RipIt<\/p>\n
Please notice that RipIt only works on Mac OS X.<\/p>\n
Before inserting a DVD in your Mac\u2019s optical drive, please make sure the disc is clean and relatively free of scratches. This will ensure reliable rips.<\/p>\n
