The improvements of Blu-ray over DVD include video and audio quality, as well as durability. The fragility of DVDs bothers a lot of movie lovers. And as is designed to supersede DVD, Blu-ray discs are naturally more durable than DVDs thanks to a TDK hard coat that's applied on the surface of the disc. Generally speaking, Blu-ray discs are more resistant to scratches and other forms of damage. But no matter how durable Blu-ray discs are, if you don't use them carefully, they can still be easily damaged. So a digital copy of your Blu-ray disc sounds reasonable and necessary. If you've collected a certain number of Blu-ray discs, it's time to get them backed up. If you haven't done this before, check out the content below and see how to make a Blu-ray disc digital copy. This tutorial will introduce to you 2 different programs for you to get your Blu-ray disc digital copy.

Part 1: Why do we need to make a digital copy of Blu-ray

Part 2: Best Blu-ray disc digital copy software - Leawo Blu-ray Ripper

Part 3: Make a Blu-ray disc digital copy with Leawo Blu-ray Copy

Part 4: Make a Blu-ray disc digital copy using MakeMKV

Part 1: Why do we need to make a digital copy of Blu-ray

In the era of digital media, you must know various videos in different forms. And how to digitize Blu-ray movies? Well, digitizing Blu-ray movies is to convert the Blu-ray disc to some other video formats which are compatible with various streaming digital portal devices, such as smartphones and so on, or <a href="https://www.leawo.org/tutorial/disc-to-disc-blu-ray-backup.html"target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" >back up Blu-ray disc to blank disc or computer hard drive. Usually, you can digitize Blu-ray movies to MP4, MKV, FLV etc video formats. Then you can watch the digital HD and Blu-ray movies on any mobile app instead of on a specific player. Generally, you have to use third-party software to digitize Blu-ray movies to a Blu-ray digital copy. Why do you need to make a digital copy of your Blu-ray disc collections? There are quite a few reasons:

Even though Blu-ray movies could provide you the best watching experience, the Blu-ray and DVD discs are fragile object and easy to be damaged.

Even more worse, Blu-ray disc may fail to be readable due to some physical damage or data loss caused by carelessness and overlong storage.

Furthermore, as the disc form, Blu-ray movie can not be shared with others easily because you have to prepare a player to watch the Blu-ray movie.

Therefore, in order to popularize the Blu-ray high-quality movie, people have tried to digitize Blu-ray movies for better storing and sharing.

Part 2: How to get a Blu-ray disc digital copy using Leawo Blu-ray Ripper

<a href="https://www.leawo.org/blu-ray-ripper/"target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" >Leawo Blu-ray Ripper is one of the few Blu-ray ripper software tools that can rip Blu-ray discs with copy protection.
